<100-Word Review of Simone Spittle’s ‘Refuge’ by Gemma White

Simone Spittle’s single ‘Refuge’ is not the kind of music I usually listen to. But that doesn’t mean it’s not appealing to me. The pure hope and avalanche of well-wishes and open-hearted forgiveness that the lyrics of this song express is universally appealing and appropriate to many, especially in the times we currently live in. Here art is doing what art is supposed to do – to heal. ‘I wish the same for you, I do’ is a worthy refrain and the clarity and beauty in Spittle’s vocals are the perfect musical manifestation of the ethos of this song.
