GEMMA WHITE -POETRY MENTOR
I offer a range of services relating to writing mentoring in Melbourne. I have experience writing poetry, self-publishing books, and getting published in journals, magazines, anthologies and with a professional Australian poetry publisher. You might not think that this stuff changes the world. It’s just writing, right? Wrong! I firmly believe that writing is a defiant act of alchemy, whereby each individual writer has the chance to spin their darkness into gold. So it’s important, dammit. It’s time you focused on your writing. And your healing. They are one and the same.
Get Your Goals!
Get clear on what you want to achieve with your writing. Let me help you tease out what you really want to do with your writing. Then we make a plan! What will be the markers of your success?
Get Writing Done!
It can be hard to find time to write. But really, the problem comes down to motivation and accountability. Be accountable to me, and get your goddamn writing done for realz!
Once you have a draft of your poem, or manuscript of poetry, it’s time to get feedback. This is where you grow as a writer, so don’t skip it! I’ll be kind yet constructive in my comments!
Let me teach you about different poetry publishing options and which might best suit your writing goals. Self-publishing, journals, and publishers are all on the table!

WHAT CAN I DO FOR YOU?
I am a highly creative person, and with that has come challenges. At times it felt like I had fallen down every possible hole. But I persisted, and good things have gradually started to fall into my lap. Good things in life, and good things in writing. Let me help you find your own brand of creative persistence and endurance so you get the results you are after too.
HOW MUCH LONGER WILL YOU WAIT?
When you fail at something, it’s often because you are missing a crucial piece of information, that you just don’t have yet. I can give you that missing morsel of info. Learn from my mistakes and make progress more quickly. How much longer are you willing to wait before you get the results you crave?

HERE'S SOME PEOPLE WHO HAVE ALREADY WORKED WITH ME!
THIS IS WHAT THEY HAVE TO SAY:
"A Wonderful Mentor to Support Writers to Chase Their Dream and Never Put That Pen Down!"
Gemma’s writing mentorship gave me a renewed confidence in
my writing. It was her thoughtful insights in her feedback and her constructive
critiques but more so her warm and genuine encouragement that warmed my heart
and set the fire in motion. She has a deep passion and instinct for the art of
poetry that she herself has refined in her own craft. This allows her to be a
wonderful mentor to support writers to chase their dream and never put that pen
down! Thank you, Gemma!

"A Great Mentor, Explains Writing in a Clear and Precise Manner"
A great mentor, explains writing in a clear and precise
manner, very easy going and even the smallest things Gemma picks up on. Whether
it was something I had experience in or had no experience in, Gemma got the
best out of me and was a pleasure to learn under her guidance. Can’t recommend
her services enough!
