‘April’s Fool’ by Lanie Laynz is an intentionally immature and highly energetic salute to early 2000s punk-pop artists like The Veronicas or Avril Lavigne. Laynz’s powerful vocals carry the infectious tune which combines with the song’s fun, youthful lyrics such as ‘I won’t be / that dumb again’ and ‘get a grip / you’re being way uncool’ to paint a picture of Autumnal teenage angst. If you’re feeling a little emo, nostalgic, heartbroken, or sick of being reeled in by that same toxic person again and again, then sing along to this single at top volume and find yourself renewed.
